My Baby’s Mind Monday-6-8-09

My friend Tatiana over at It was a Very Good Year started this meme. Each Monday you look inside your baby’s mind and let us know what you find. Be sure to go show her some love.

This is my inspiration picture this week:

crying in the carseat

Dear Mama,

We’ve already been over the whole hatred of tummy time do I really have to tell you how much I hate the car seat? Why oh why do you insist in trapping me in here rather then holding me close like you claim to like so much? I have to admit its kind of fun when Daddy swings me in the car seat but then you guys put me in the back seat all be my lonesome and as a big slap in the face you make me face backwards.

I don’t care how many fun toys (and they are fun, thanks) you hook on it I will still scream 95% of the time we are in the car just to remind you how much I hate it. Sometimes when you sing to me I like that and will give you a little break but most of the time I’m just too mad about being all alone to care about twinkling stars or rowing boats and the marching ants that never do the same thing twice.

You try hard to convince me that the seat is the “safe” way to travel but I’m super skeptical. I mean you and Daddy don’t use them, why should I? And stop telling me to take a nap in it. I don’t want to go to sleep, I might miss something.

I do appreciate that you and Daddy take me out when we get to the store. I really like looking around at people and I really like it when people stop us and remind you how cute I am. But then you put me back in it when we go to leave, its not fair!

Love,
Lily

Aloha Friday 6-3-09

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. I like the idea, therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.  Be sure to check Kailani out.

As a renter, when you move out of a place do you super clean it or do you just do the say bathroom and kitchen?

If anyone is a landlord what do you expect?

As followers of this blog know we just moved.  We knew I wouldn’t really be able to do much because of Lily so we enlisted the help of some friends.  We paid them to help so they were willing to go just about as far as I wanted.   But by half way through the day they were all telling me that no one cleans as much as I wanted and no one expects it.  I wanted wall washed and the carpets cleaned and the whole nine yards.  We comprimised on a few points but overall I got my way.  So I want to know what others do.

Girl Talk Thursday-Booze

Mommy Melee started Girl Talk Thursday. Go show her some love and check out Mr. Linky.

Booze, booze and more booze is the topic this week.

I am not a big drinker, that isn’t to say that I don’t drink.  Oh how I love me some vodka with cranberry and lemon drops and a few others that I’m too sober to name right now.  I’ve had a glass of wine or two that I really enjoyed.  However I hate beer, I haven’t found one that I want to take more then a sip of.

I don’t like to drink hard stuff at home, I prefer a half empty bar (I don’t like big crowds).  At home I can never get the drinks to taste right.  We have wine at the house every once in a while but I’d rather have wine at a restaurant.  I’m just weird like that.

Since I’ve been pregnant and am now breastfeeding I haven’t had any booze in over a year.  Alcohol has never been that important to me.  I didn’t have my first taste till after my 21st birthday and wouldn’t know that I like vodka with cranberry if it weren’t for my buddy Jack.

Jack lived in my spare room for a while and we would go downtown during the week when his favorite bar was nice and quiet.  We’d have a drink or 12, play some pool and chat with the regulars.  It was fun.  Once Jack moved out I didn’t have a desire to keep going out on my own, that seemed like it would be no fun.  Besides who was going to make sure I got home safely and watch Eurotrip with me for the 150th time.  We have watched that movie so many times we know just were to fast forward because those parts just aren’t funny enough.

23 weeks old

Today Lily turns 23 weeks old. (pretend I’m on time and today is Monday 6-1-09)

We are trying to wean her from the swaddle and its very slow going, but I think we can safely say that she can sleep with one arm out. In the next day or two we will start leaving both arms out. It seems silly to still do the swaddle for just her legs since it seems like the arms are more important but I think its part of our routine and that after we get the two arms free down then we can get rid of it all together. I’m sad to see it going. She likes it, I like it. But its getting hot here, well as hot as Montana gets in the spring. But I want to have her all done before Summer.

23 weeks old
We got some really good news today. Her chromosome study came back perfect. (The doctor is still trying to find out why her head is shaped differently) We go see the genetics specialists in July and they will tell us what we need to do next.

23 weeks old

The watermelon outfit is one of the first things I’ve had to buy her. All of her other clothes were either from her baby shower or hand me downs. We had a diaper accident so pictures of this outfit to come in some later post.

enjoying her bouncer
I think she is teething and I wish the little buggers would break through already. She’s grumpy off and on all day, has her hands in her mouth all the time, and has a little rash on her chin. Honestly I’m hoping she’s teething because that would explain the grumpy. If she’s not then I’m at a loss.
